For the month of sleep awareness, I have spent some time reflecting on the role that sleeps in every aspect of my life and why it is essential for my well -being. The amount and quality of sleep I get every night affects the mood, productivity and, surprisingly, other areas of my well -being, such as my diet. This is not true to me; Sleep greatly affects all people. Let’s talk why everyone should take care of their sleep.
Thinking about sleep consciousness month
I have made that advantage of being aware of my rest and my overall health. It was during this reflection that I realized how much I took my sleep as a good thing, mainly because I didn’t get enough throughout my life. I missed a lot of sleep as a child and an early teenager because of the weakening anxiety that would keep me awake. As my sleep comes to me easily now, I still feel like playing catching up from time to time.

I have also noticed that I use sleep as a coping mechanism. This is probably something I chose in college, and this habit has exploded in my life after grade. When I’m stressed and overloaded, my first thought is to take a quick nap. While there are worse vices there, I have noticed that my buds can sometimes be kidnapped with my sleep at night.

Exploring sleeping technology
The eighth Sleep Pod 3 cover generated all types of sleep data.
I have tested some sleeping technologies, including the eighth Sleep Pod 3 cover. The heating mattress cover traced my sleep, my sleep quality, my sleep stages, heartbeat, heart rate variability, respiratory rhythm and sleep delay. In combination with my Smartwatch Garmin Forerunner, I compared sleep data from the pod mattress and finished some interesting results. Here’s what I found:
First, I was not getting enough deep sleep. Instead of recommended 1.5 to 2 hours of deep sleep, I was spending about 45 minutes in an hour. Second, I woke up a lot at night. I saw in my records that I was waking up three to four times, which was causing a reduction in the overall quality of sleep. These arousal periods were more than a quick stroke or twist; I was winging and I am unable to go back to sleep right away.
Fortunately, after my eight -bed testing month, I noticed that my deep sleep grew, and I woke up less at night. I believe this is because of a few things: I was going to bed and winging around at the same time every day, I was practicing during the day (not very close to sleep) and used my eight sleeping sleeping. Pod imitates the natural temperature cycle of the body at night and helps you fix you on the optimal stairs. As a hot sleep, some of my waking periods were due to sweating under my comfort. The impact of sleep on all aspects of life

Here are some aspects of life where sleep plays a big role and what I have learned about myself and my rest.
Mental health
My sleep and mental health have always gone side by side. When sleeping poorly, it seems to reduce my ability to deal with everyday stress and increase my anxiety. Studies have shown that mental health and sleep affect each other. While concern and anxiety can keep you awake, about 75% of those with depression also have insomnia and sleep issues. Moreover, your circadian rhythm can contribute to your poor mental health. Those at the circadian rhythm have also been reported to have mood disorders, anxiety or schizophrenia.
The right food and diet
I am guilty of eating a snack in front of the bed. While some foods contain magnesium – like nuts – and can promote sleep, until this past month, I have chosen poor food to eat before bed. Eating sugar, fatty or spicy foods before bed can keep you awake. In addition to food that affects your sleep, poor sleep can lead to a slower metabolism. Loss of sleep or deprivation of sleep can affect your glucose metabolism.
Fitness and exercise
At the top of the concentration in my sleep, I also spent last month forming a new exercise routine. I ran two to three times a week, made a cardio shape for two days and resting my days. Anydo exercise from yoga, jogging, dancing or swimming can benefit from the right night’s sleep. In the days when I didn’t stop enough, I was too slow to push myself to run faster. I also think my new training routine helped my sleep quality as my deep sleep grew. Research shows that exercise can encourage better sleep.
Why the month of sleep awareness really matters
While the month of sleep awareness is only for March, our appreciation for our bodies, minds and well -being should not be temporary. Sleep, a basic body function, affects all aspects of our lives. Without proper sleep, we would not be able to run faster, promote our bodies better, and manage everyday stressors. In matters of our general health, sleep is not just a block of construction, it is the foundation.
It is important to note that at any time that you have concerns about your health, whether sleeping, mental or physical health, nutrition or fitness, you should first talk to your doctor. Especially if you have struggled with sleep, talking to a doctor is a great first step towards the best rest.
