price
You can find a good PC tower from brands like Acer, Asus, Dell or HP for between $ 500 and $ 600 that will prove useful for years for general use. Specifications we would suggest for a Basic Windows 11:
- Intel Core I5 (13- or 14th) or AMD Ryzen 5 (series 6000, 7000 or 8000)
- Integrated predefined graphics (such as intel UHD or IRIS or AMD Radeon Start)
- 16 GB RAM or more
- 512 GB or NVME Larger NVME SSD
- Four or more USB 3.1 or 3.2 ports with USB-C and USB-a formats (at least one or two in the front)
- Wi-Fi and Wireless Bluetooth
- At least one PCI expansion slot (x16) (for adding a video card)
Do you want to make some PC games, or spend time editing photos or videos? You will want to flatten the configuration with more RAM and better graphic options. Expect the price points to be between $ 800 and $ 1,200 (or even higher) if you go for a more bleeding video card.
- Nvidia RTX or AMD Radeon Rx Graphic (GPU)
- 16 GB RAM or more
- 450 watts (or more) power supply
Operating system
Microsoft Windows and Apple’s Macos basically do the same things, but they make them different. If there is no specific os application you need, go with the one you feel more comfortable using. Most desktops execute Microsoft Windows while Apple’s iMac, Mac Mini, Mac Studio and Mac Pro desktops display Apple Macos. There is also the strange Chromebox offer based on Google Chromeos. A chromebox is easier to use and usually cheaper than a Windows or Mac PC, but cannot execute Windows or Mac software.
maker
The processor, AKA CPU, is the brain of a desktop. Intel and AMD are the leading CPU manufacturers for Windows desktops. Both offer a stunning selection of processors. You can go to Intel or AMD pages for explanations in order to get the performance you want. The current Intel lining is its 13th generation of essential chips, with 14th generation processors expected at the beginning of 2024. The current AMD desktop processor is its Ryzen 7000 series. In general, the sooner the processor speed and the more core it has, the better the performance.
Apple makes chips for Macs, which makes things a little more direct. IMAC and MAC mini display Apple’s latest M4 processor. Mac Studio contains either a M2 Max or M2 Ultra, while Mac Pro is based on M2 ultra. Again, in general, the more nuclei there are, the better the performance.
Graphics
Graphic processor (GPU) deals with all the work of running the screen and generating what appears, as well as the speeding of many graphic -related operations (and increasingly, related to it). For Macs, Apple Series Processors integrate GPU. For Windows desktops, there are two types of GPUs: integrated (IGPU) or discrete. As names mean, an IGPU is part of the CPU package, while a DGPU is a special chip with dedicated memory (VRAM) with which it communicates directly, making it faster than sharing memory with CPU.
Because IGPU shares space, memory and power with CPU, it is limited by the boundaries of them. It allows smaller desktops such as an All-in-One PC or SFF but does not perform almost as well as a DGPU. In fact, there are some creative games and software that will not work unless they detect a DGPU or sufficient VRAM. Most productivity software, video broadcasting, internet browsing and other nonspecificalized applications will work well on an IGPU.
For hungry energy graphic needs, such as video editing, games and broadcasting, design, etc., you will need a DGPU. Only two real companies make them: Nvidia and AMD, though Intel offers some based on the XE brand (or older UHD graphics brand) IGPU in its CPUs.
memory
For memory, we recommend a minimum of 16 GB of RAM. RAM is where the operating system stores all the data data currently executing, and can be completed quickly. After that, it begins to change between RAM and SSD, which is slower. Some low -level models only supply 8 GBs, which in relation to a slower disk can make a slow slow experience of Windows.
Tower PCs will usually have free interior slots to add more RAM sticks, but All-in-One and PC SFF may not be. Even if they do this, those DIMM slots can be difficult to use.
ESCROW
You can still find a cheaper hard disk in a budget desktop and larger discs on the PC of the games, but the fastest solid (SSD) discs have all but replaced by solid drives. They can make a big difference in performance. Not all SSDs are just as fast, and cheaper desktops usually have slower discs. If your PC has only 8 GB of RAM, it can end up passing through that car and the system can slow down quickly while you are working.
Take what you can afford, but we recommend a minimum of 512 GB for a desktop for most users. For maintaining large media libraries or games, we suggest 1TB or more. If you need to go with a smaller car, you can usually add a second interior machine to a tower PC. For all-in-one and PCs SFF, an external machine or storage in the cloud is usually the easiest choice to strengthen a small interior machine.
SHOW
An entire-in-an integrate the screen with computer components not in a tower or closing of small-shape factors, but behind the screen or at its base. Trade for this effective design for space saving is less likely to update. For the screen, you will want a great screen with good resolution. Sweet points we would suggest are:
- 24 inches in 1,920×1,080 pixels (AKA 2K or 1080p)
- 27 inches at 2,560×1,440 pixels (AKA 1440p)
- 32 inches at 3,840×2,160 pixels (AKA 4K)
